The Baltimore City Health Department offers 2 types of reproductive health services in the STD Clinics:  1. STD medical management could cover, for example, the various new and old tests available for sexually transmitted infections, such as syphilis.  Also discussed would be the recommended treatments for the different infections; and 2. Early HIV care could cover, for example, when to start treatment, adherence, resistance to medication, and opportunistic infections associated with HIV infection.  Clinical staff must have ongoing clinical training in order to maintain levels of competence in these areas.  To that end, the STD Program has requested that the STD/HIV Prevention Training Center (PTC) at Johns Hopkins conduct periodic surveys of the clinicians, the medical supervisors and the program manager to determine those training needs.  Quality assurance review and emerging community needs are also considered in the development of the Grand Rounds for the year.  This activity will increase knowledge in STI and HIV of the various clinical staff who attend.  We offer an informal needs assessment of all staff to find out what other topics of interest they are interested hearing.  This is a 1 -2 hour program.  CE credit is available
