Specifically, ACCME only awards CE to Physicians, DO’s, and MBBS. PA’s who complete ACCME accredited courses and can only receive a certificate that displays hours of instruction completed of an ACCME accredited course but does not award CE to non-physicians. ACCME cannot award CME to PA’s and Nurse Practitioners. However, their boards accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for the amount that the course was worth which is why CDC provides a CME-Non-Physician certificate. The learner should be able to submit the certificate to their board and receive credit for the amount that the course is worth.
