Class Information

This lab workshop will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to competently perform Wet Prep Microscopy for the diagnosis of vaginal infections. The course will include a lecture on proper specimen collection, slide preparation, and identification of normal and abnormal elements found in vaginal fluids.  Instructors will demonstrate the proper set up and use of the light-field microscope.  Learners will have the opportunity to enhance their microscopic skills by reading clinical specimens containing Trichomonas, yeast, clue cells, red and white blood cells and artifacts.
