Cultivating and strengthening community partnerships is an essential public health service. Creating and implementing services that are effective and responsive to the populations served requires input from those being served. During this Region 8 STI Leadership Learning Community (LC), we will hear from a population that is often an afterthought in sexual and reproductive health program planning: youth! Join staff of the Baylor College of Medicine’s Teen Health Clinic and members of the clinic’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) as they share an overview of their program, their successes and lessons learned in creating an advisory council of teenage and college-aged youth served by the clinic. The session will feature a presentation, a panel discussion, Q&A, and plenty of audience participation so come ready to learn and engage!
Learning Objectives:

- Identify 2-3 examples of successful strategies to engage communities for participation in program design
