Learning Community for Clinicians:

Testing, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Maternal and Congenital Syphilis

California Prevention Training Center & Department of Health, Hawaii

The Learning Community is as a series of four, 1-hour sessions designed for health care providers who work with pregnant women and newborns from communities that face cultural, economic and language barriers to obtaining good prenatal and neonatal care.

After the Learning Community Series, learners will be able to:

  • Describe CDC treatment scenarios for congenital syphilis and diagnostic testing recommended in the evaluation of congenital syphilis
  • Discuss management of penicillin allergy when treating syphilis in pregnancy
  • Describe recommendations for serologic follow-up after treatment for syphilis in pregnancy

CME Units: Offered at NO COST. Only those registered at https://courses.nnptc.org/class_information.html?id=2905 will be eligible to receive CME, contingent upon completing all four, 1-hour sessions, and completing the post-course survey evaluation. No partial credit is given for this course.  All sessions must be completed by November 24, 2020.
